From the 1920s to her death in 1975, Olive Pink was a radical anthropologist, activist, environmentalist, botanist, rampant letter writer and well-known Alice Springs eccentric. First travelling out to the central desert and living amongst the Warlpiri people in her 40s, her controversial political activism put her at odds with missionaries, pastoralists, anthropologists and the Government.
