Anna Cadden




Anna has many years experience working in remote and traditional Aboriginal media. She was an initiator of the Cherbourg Digital Project in 2001 and the training of Cherbourg community residents in film production. Anna then moved to Yuendumu, 300kms north-west of Alice Springs, and began working with Warlpiri Media Association (now known as PAW Media). For 5 years she travelled between 11 remote Pintubi, Anmatjere and Warlpiri communities facilitating the production of hundreds of local films and providing film, photography and local broadcasting training.


Anna continued to work as a film trainer and producer in remote communities of the Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia. She has had the opportunity to work with PAKAM (Pilbara and Kimberley Aboriginal Media); Ngaanyatjarra Media; CAAMA (Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association); ICTV (Indigenous Community TV); IRCA (now First Nations Media); WYDAC; CLC; CDU; NPYWC; Tangentyere Council; Art Gallery of NSW; Tropic Productions; and more.


Anna produced the ICTV series, 'Our Place' in 2015, and 2 seasons of 'Card Stories' in 2016 and 2018. She produced PAW Media's Songlines on Screen film 'Yarripiri’s Journey'  for NITV in 2017.


Anna first joined forces with Brindle Films as a co-creator and producer for the ABC Indigenous comedy series, '8MMM Aboriginal Radio' back in 2011.  She was a Line Producer on their feature documentary 'Finke: There and Back' which premiered at the 2018 Sydney Film Festival.


As well as producing, Anna is an established photographer and cinematographer of documentaries, including Aboriginal Rules (2007, ABC), Queen of the Desert (2012, ABC2) and Yarripiri’s Journey (2018, NITV).
